Molecular surveillance of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis in Europe
(MDR-TB Surveillance)

The MDR-TB surveillance project has been implemented by EuroTB and the RIVM in 2005, following a pilot phase that took place in 2001-2003. It aims to monitor MDR-TB cases in Europe, and in particular to identify international molecular clusters of MDR-TB strains over time in order to take coordinated control actions.

The following documents are the report updated quarterly and the background material that is used to collect the data. All the 52 European member states have been invited to participate in this project.
